Wildstyle Graffiti – An Advanced Graffiti Style

Wildstyle Graffiti is an interesting type of art that can be found anywhere in the world. We can easily find around us the most common type of graffiti art. Sadly, most of them are made by vandals or gang members to tag their area or territory. If we look to the better side of graffiti, we can see that this type of art is great. Professional graffiti artists are completely different from street vandals as they always ask for permission from the property owner before they create their piece of art. Some of them are even getting paid to fill certain areas with their work of art. Some businesses are hiring graffiti artists to decorate their walls with certain graffiti that can attract customers.

Most of the graffiti letters that we see on the street are just common style. There is a more-advanced graffiti style called the Wild Style. This graffiti style is pioneered by Tracy 168 and Stay High 149 from London. People who are familiar with graffiti art are calling wild style graffiti piece as “burners.” Wild Style is really different from common graffiti style, and it is mostly done by well-experienced graffiti artist. When we see common graffiti letters, we can read the letters almost immediately. But when we see wild style graffiti, we may need to spend more time reading it because the letters have been dramatically transformed.

Wild style graffiti usually uses overlapping letters, shapes, with decorative elements like arrows, spikes, and others. Some wild style graffiti are also using some 3D elements. Most of the time, wild style graffiti can only be understood by people who really know the wild style graffiti art. This is the reason why street vandals never use wild style graffiti to tag their territory because there is no point in writing something that people cannot read. Wild style graffiti are mostly created to show the graffiti artist’s skill, not for delivering message like regular and easy to read graffiti letters. It seems that the more complicated wild style graffiti that an artist created the more reputation that he or she gets.
